Turning a turn-of-the-century mercantile building into Bend’s hottest new restaurant didn’t happen by magic (even though many describe the new space as magical). It meant thousands of hours overcoming physical and structural hurdles to implement a finely detailed vision by one of the country’s premier restaurant architects. The small size of the space creates a friendly and comfortable environment; it also meant the full orchestra of equipment and fixtures had to hit every note. The highlight of the finish is a suspended overhead water feature that refracts light and transforms the space into a serene underwater illusion.
